Continuing the journey towards Sustainability in Healthcare
Sustainability in Healthcare
Healthcare systems are major emitters of carbon dioxide and other environmental pollutants. Mitigation of further environmental and climate change will thus have to involve efforts to reduce the footprint of healthcare providers and healthcare industries. At the same time, there is significant potential for synergy between the advancement of human health and climate change mitigation.
Creating a Sustainable healthcare system starts with understanding that our health and that of our environment around us are intrinsically linked. We need to act in a way that supports both the health of our people and our planet. The actions that we make today can help develop and protect it for the future.
